Why Choose ABM?
This course isn’t your average entry-level certification.
The Alive Barre Method (ABM) training is designed for movement professionals who already have a solid foundation in fitness. We’re not here to re-teach anatomy from scratch—we’re here to help you translate that knowledge into powerful, engaging barre classes. This is about refining your teaching voice, understanding the nuance of form, and mastering the tools that make a good class great. If you're ready to elevate your offerings and bring a fresh, dynamic barre experience to your clients, this is your next step.
Quality over Quantity
Maximum 6 trainees per intake means real feedback, real connection, and real growth.
This isn’t a passive, sit-at-the-back kind of course. You’ll move, teach, adjust, and be mentored every step of the way. With vibes being the undertone, always!
Built for Fitness Professionals
This is not a generic, entry-level certification.
ABM is specifically designed for qualified movement professionals who want to deepen their knowledge of anatomy, alignment, cueing, and class structure.
Practical Group Teaching
You’ll leave this training having taught—not just learned.
We guide you through a structured practical phase including class planning, cueing drills, live corrections, and real-time feedback so you're confident from day one.
A Method that Moves
ABM blends technical depth with creativity and freedom.
Our method works for dancers, athletes, beginners and older adults alike—giving you the tools to create powerful, inclusive and engaging classes that feel authentic to you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this course internationally recognised? While there is no single international governing body for barre (unlike yoga or Pilates), the Alive Barre Method is a structured, method-based certification recognised within the fitness and wellness industry. Many studios and gyms accept method-based certifications, especially when paired with an existing fitness qualification.
Do I need a fitness background to take this course? Yes — this course is designed for individuals who already have a basic fitness qualification or background (e.g. personal training, Pilates, yoga, group fitness). We don’t cover the foundational theory of anatomy and physiology from scratch, but we do recap the essentials for barre application.
Can I teach classes immediately after completing the course? Once you’ve completed the practical and theory components, including your 20 teaching and 20 practical hours, you’ll be eligible to teach Alive Barre Method classes. You’ll receive your certificate upon passing your final exam.
What’s included in the course fee? Your course fee includes in-person training, access to the course manual, digital resources, exam fees, access to 20 curated Spotify playlists, and ongoing support during your certification process.
Do I need to be a dancer to take this course? Not at all! While barre draws inspiration from ballet, it’s designed for all body types and movement backgrounds. What’s more important is your ability to lead, connect, and coach others through intelligent, well-structured movement.
How long do I have to complete my certification? You’ll have up to 6 months from your training date to complete all requirements. If you need more time, you can apply for a short extension (an admin fee applies).
How many students are in each training group? We keep our groups small — a maximum of 6 students per training — so you get focused attention, hands-on coaching, and a truly supportive experience.
